Kaif to lead UP in Ranji matches

Kanpur, Oct 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has announced a 15 member team for the first two Ranji Trophy matches to be led by Mohammad Kaif.

The UP team has four international players -- Suresh Raina, Piyush Chawla, Praveen Kumar along with the skipper.

UPCA Secretary (Sports Administration) P D Pathak today announced the UP team that will play two Ranji Trophy matches, scheduled to be played against Andhra Pradesh at Meerut and against Baroda in Baroda respectively.

While the match at Meerut would be held between November 3 to 6, the second match at Baroda would be held between November 10 to 13.

Besides, A W Zaidi would be the manager while Gyanendra Pandey would be the coach.

The UPCA might also request the BCCI to make available the services of pacer R P Singh, if he is not included in the Third test match between India and Australia at New Delhi starting from tomorrow.

The final team would be selected from the following.

Mohd Kaif (Captain), Suresh Raina, Piyush Chawla, Praveen Kumar, Sudeep Tyagi, Parvinder Singh, Praveen Gupta, Ravikant Shukla, Mohd Amir Khan, Anshul Kapoor, Shivakant Shukla, Imtiaz Ahmad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Tanmay Srivastava and Ashish Kumar Yadav.
