Kane Williamson back in the nets ahead of World Cup 2023, Twitter reacts: 'Worst news for Indian fans'

In a good news for New Zealand ahead of the World Cup 2023 which kicks start from October 5, their white-ball captain Kane Williamson has hit the nets ahead for the first time after suffering a knee injury while fielding for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2023 tournament-opener on March 31.

The 32-year-old batter posted an Instagram video of him batting in the nets on Tuesday. "Nice to be back in the nets with the bat in hand for a few throws," he captioned the video.

The video shows the Kiwi stalwart defending a delivery on the front foot before slapping one through the off side. He also exquisites a cover drive in all its glory.

The severity of the injury had left New Zealand Cricket (NZC) with little hope for a timely Kane Williamson injury for the World Cup 2023. In fact, there were even reports that an unfit Williamson would travel to India with the New Zealand team as a mentor.

However, against all the odds, it seems like Williamson - one the modern day greats of the game - is well on course for a very timely comeback. The video of him batting in the nets has gone viral. Here are the top reactions.
