Kapil Dev's memorabilia is 'properly preserved': PCA

Patiala, Jun 18 (UNI) The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) today clarified that cricket icon Kapil Dev's gifts to PCA including the memorabilia were properly preserved and kept in the legendary cricketers dressing room at the PCA stadium in Mohali.

Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) secretary M P Pandov while talking to media persons at Dhruv Pandov Cricket Stadium here said, ''We have assured Kapil through an e-mail that the gifts and memorabilia associated with 1983 World Cup victory are properly preserved and we are proud to have these items at our headquaters.'' Mr Pandov, who is also joint secretary of Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI), when asked about the removal of cut out of the cricketer from the PCA stadium, Mohali, said that the life size poster had fallen down during the recent windstorm. He denied that the poster had been removed by the PCA officials.

''We will put up his poster at the same place or any other appropriate place at the stadium, he said while pointing out that a new extension had been constructed at the PCA Stadium.
