Kapil says he would quit if he was 'illtreated' like Ganguly

Jaipur, Feb 26(UNI) Former captain Kapil Dev reiterated once again that had he been 'ill-treated' the way Sourav Ganguly's was, he would have quit cricket and never think about making a comeback.

''If I was treated like Ganguly, I would have quit cricket and never opt for a come back. Sourav Ganguly captian was subjected to ill-treatment,'' the allrounder said.

When asked about his suggestion in appointing Sachin Tendulkar as Vice-captain, he said, ''If Sachin is not interested in captaincy what was the point in appointing him as vice-captain. In that case Sourav would have been a better choice for vice-captain.'' Talking to newsmen, the World Cup winning captain said, ''After a dull season, recent performances againt the West Indies and Sri lankans rekindled hope of India's chances in the World Cup.'' However, Kapil, who was here as brand ambassodor for a battery, said it was too early to make any predcitions before the start of mega event in West Indies.

To a query, he opined that the recent reversals and injury probelms pestering world Champions Australia props the chances in this World Cup.
