Islamabad United appear weakened as well for the first game with Alex Hales and Rahmanullah Gurbaz unavailable for the tournament yet. Rassie Van der Dussen is likely to replace Alex Hales and open the innings with Paul Stirling.
The team may also turn to Tom Curran to replace Liam Dawson in the starting XI with the English all-rounder performing for the Desert Vipers in the inaugural ILT20.

Wicket-keeper Azam Khan is also expected to take more responsibility after the batter scored a century for Khulna Tigers in Bangladesh Premier League while Shadab Khan has struggled to score runs recently.

Senior batters Asif Ali and Mohammad Nawaz are all set to play but their forms have been questionable. Faheem Ashraf is likely to be the domestic all-rounder but Zafar Gohar has made a strong case for himself with his performance in the National T20 for Central Punjab.

Among bowlers, Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim are expected to be in charge of the pacer department. They also have Rumman Raees, who had a strong Kashmir Premier League.
