Match Summary
Shoaib Malik after that match-winning knock: "To be honest, we did speak out during the meetings. I told during the meetings when match goes into crunch situations, don't panic. I remembered my own words. It wasn't easy.
"After playing for so many years, you just need to calm yourself. It is always like playing your first game when it goes into a crunch situation. Niazi is an exceptional talent. I was telling him to watch the ball. He has got talent. As a youngster, you just need to place it."

The 26th PSL 2024 match is taking place on Saturday evening (March 09) at the National Stadium in Karachi between the Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars. Lahore Qalandars, with three points from eight games, are out of the tournament, while these two teams are at the bottom of the points table. With six points from eight games, Karachi Kings, however, still have a chance of making the playoffs.
The last game saw Karachi Kings lose to Islamabad United by five wickets, which complicated Karachi's qualification chances. They will be dependent on the outcomes of the other teams, even if they win their next two games. On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars arrive having defeated Islamabad United by a margin of 17 runs. Lahore will now play more for pride than for qualifying, since they will very certainly miss out on making the playoffs.
Kieron Pollard (235 runs in 6 innings) and Shoaib Malik ( 205 runs in 8 innings) are the top run-getters for Karachi. Tim Seifert performed admirably in the last few games, demonstrating consistency. The leading wicket-taker for Karachi, Hasan Ali (13 wickets in 8 innings), will try to get back after his dismal performance against Islamabad United. Zahid Mahmood, a right-arm leg break specialist from Pakistan, has taken wickets in recent games.
Rassie van der Dussen, who scored 364 runs in seven innings and was named Player of the Match against Islamabad, has not scored a single figure in his last nine T20 innings. Sahibzada Farhan has scored 241 runs in seven innings. Zaman Khan was brilliant against Islamabad as he picked up 4/37. The skipper Shaheen Afridi (11 wickets in 7 innings) continues to pick up wickets in the tournament.
