Kashi Rudras Storm Into UP T20 League Playoffs With 56-Run Win Over Meerut Mavericks

Defending champions Kashi Rudras produced a statement performance at the perfect time, defeating league leaders Meerut Mavericks by 56 runs to book their place in the playoffs of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League.

After being asked to bat first, Kashi posted an imposing 175/4 from their 20 overs, setting Meerut a demanding target on a surface where building partnerships proved difficult.

Captain Karan Sharma anchored the innings with a measured 57 from 40 balls, striking six boundaries and three sixes. At the other end, Upendra Yadav provided the acceleration the Rudras needed, smashing 57 off only 29 deliveries. His innings featured four fours and five sixes and ensured Kashi finished with a formidable total.

The defending champions then backed up their batting effort with a clinical display from the bowling attack. Meerut never managed to establish any sustained momentum and were eventually dismissed for just 119 in 19.2 overs.

Kartik Yadav spearheaded the attack, claiming an impressive 3/12, while Rishabh Rajput matched him with three wickets for 13 runs. Atal Bihari Rai chipped in with 2/20 as Kashi kept striking at regular intervals and prevented the Mavericks from building the partnerships required for a successful chase.

Kartik reflected on the team's approach after the emphatic victory.

"We wanted to finish the league stage on a strong note and show what this team is capable of. The plan was to attack from the start, bowl in the right areas and keep taking wickets. Everyone contributed today, and that is what makes this team special. We have been through difficult moments, but we have stayed together. Now we are in the playoffs and we believe we can go all the way."

The victory caps an encouraging turnaround for Kashi, who endured testing moments during the league phase. More importantly, the defending champions have found their best rhythm as the competition enters its decisive stage.
