Kavya Maran’s SRH Resolves Free Passes Issue, Stays Committed to Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kavya Maran has resolved to keep the franchise in Hyderabad following a successful negotiation with the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) over the ongoing ticket allocation dispute.

Despite speculation about a possible relocation due to tensions with HCA, SRH and the association have come to an agreement, ensuring SRH's continued presence at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

The conflict arose after SRH accused HCA of pressuring them regarding the allocation of complimentary passes. A letter from SRH to HCA's Secretary R. Devraj outlined the franchise's concerns, particularly the reduction in the seating capacity of the F12A corporate box and demands for additional tickets. This led to increased tension, with SRH contemplating a shift to a new venue.

However, despite the growing controversy, Kavya Maran chose to stay away from the direct meetings, leaving the discussions to SRH representatives Kiran, Saravanan, and Rohit Suresh. The meeting took place on April 1 and was focused on resolving the outstanding issues. The parties discussed various solutions and ultimately reached an agreement.

Both SRH and HCA agreed to maintain the long-standing practice of allocating 3,900 complimentary passes for SRH, which will continue to be distributed in line with the tri-party agreement involving SRH, HCA, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). HCA further assured that they would fully cooperate with SRH moving forward, allowing the team to focus on the upcoming matches without further hindrance.

Following these discussions, SRH's management confirmed that all concerns had been addressed, and there would be no shift in the team's home venue. While Kavya Maran has refrained from making a public statement regarding the matter, it is clear that the resolution has lifted the immediate uncertainty surrounding SRH's future in Hyderabad.

With the issue now settled, SRH fans can look forward to the team's next match against Gujarat Titans on April 6, where the team will play at their home ground in Hyderabad. This resolution reaffirms SRH's strong bond with the city, and the franchise remains committed to delivering high-quality cricket for its loyal supporters.
