Former KKR player KC Cariappa lodges complaint against 'Drug Addict' ex-girlfriend after career ending threats

Former Kolkata Knight Riders player KC Cariappa has launched a complaint against his ex-girlfriend in Bengaluru.

KC Cariappa, who is a known name in the Indian cricket circuit, lodged an FIR to the Bagalugunte Police Station on December 22 against his former lover, stating that she threatened to end his cricket career.

Cariappa told the police that he had a relationship with a woman who hails from Kodagu. The pair fell in love but Cariappa had to break up with her as she was a "drug addict, alcoholic, and promiscuous".

It has also been reported that Cariappa's ex had already complained against the player to the Police last year. She filed it on December 31, 2022, alleging Cariappa of impregnating her and then forcing her for an abortion.

She notably also told the police that Cariappa promised to marry her after the abortion but then decided to split up. The player, on the other hand, says due to her alcoholism and transient behaviour, he had to break up with her. The player also said he repeatedly told her to stop alcohol consumption, but it went in vain.

KC Cariappa received career-ending threats

KC Cariappa's complaint comes after his ex-girlfriend threatened to end his career. He mentions that she allegedly told him that she would accuse the player in her suicide note, which can be a damaging blow to his career and life.

She reportedly also threatened Cariappa's parents and elder brother of consequences. After knowing about Cariappa's complaint, she said she would fight for justice.

KC Cariappa and his IPL career

KC Cariappa is a player who is known for his mystery spin bowling prowess. The 29-year-old has played for many different IPL teams, namely Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

He was with the Royals till IPL 2023 but they released the player ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. In his IPL career, the player has played 11 matches and has 8 wickets to his name.
