KDCA to host 20twenty cricket tourney

Kozhikode, Nov 29 (UNI) Sixteen leading teams from Kerala are expected to participate in a 20twenty cricket tournament to be held here in February 2008.

The dates of the tournament will be announced later, Kozhikode District Cricket Association (KDCA) President Sabu P Samuel and Honorary Secretary O K Manoharan told reporters here today.

The decision to host the 20twenty version of the game was taken while considering its growing popularity among cricket lovers, they said.

KDCA would also hold a summer cricket coaching camp to be attended by experts for players under different categories, they added.

Manoharan also said the Association was in the process of constructing a stadium, exclusively for cricket, on a ten-acre land with international standards in the district.

Three places have been identified for the ground, he added.
