Kenya wins inaugral World Cricket League
Nairobi, Feb 8 (UNI) Riding on David Obuya's 93-run knock, hosts Kenya beat Scotland by eight wickets to clinch the inaugural ICC World Cricket League Division 1 title at Gymkhana.
Scotland captain Craig Wright won the toss and opted to bat first yesterday.
The Scots were all out for a paltry 155 in 47 overs with Lameck Onyango scalping three wickets for 43.
Chasing the modest score, the Kenyans lost just two wickets as Obuya, well supported by Maurice Ouma (23), Ravi Shah (24 not out) and Steve Tikolo (12 not out) led the side to the title win with 12.1 overs to spare.
The match was officiated by controversial umpire Darrell Hair, who later sued the ICC and the Pakistan Cricket Board for racial discrimination.
