The player auction for the second edition of the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) is scheduled to take place on July 5.
A notable inclusion in this year's player draft is Sanju Samson, who missed the inaugural season due to personal reasons but has now confirmed his availability to the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). His name features in the preliminary list of approximately 170 players.

Franchises will have a total purse of ₹50 lakh this season, marking an increase from the previous edition. Each team is allowed to retain up to four players and can also use the Right to Match (RTM) card during the auction. Once an RTM is exercised, bidding for that particular player will be closed.
The KCA is also considering revising the base prices across all player categories. Proposed changes include a hike in Category A's base price from ₹2 lakh to ₹3 lakh, Category B from ₹1 lakh to ₹2 lakh, and Category C from ₹50,000 to ₹75,000.
The second season of KCL will be held from August 21 to September 7. On the coaching front, former Kerala Ranji Trophy captain Raiphy Vincent Gomez has been appointed head coach of Kochi Blue Tigers, while Sony Cheruvathur will lead Alleppey Ripples.
Apart from Sanju Samson, youngster Vignesh Puthur, who played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025, is set to play in the 2nd season of the KCL. Several other top players, such as Sachin Baby, Vishnu Vinod, Salman Nizar and others will be in action in the tournament.
