The Kerala Cricket League (KCL) second season is approaching, and the pitch preparation is in its final stages, according to KCA.
Compared to the first season, curator A.M. Biju expects more run flow in the second season's matches. The tournament matches will be held at the Greenfield Stadium in Karyavattom, Thiruvananthapuram, from August 21 to September 6.

In the first season, high-scoring matches increased after halfway, with three games crossing 200 runs, including the final where Aries Kollam Sailors won by chasing 213 runs set by Calicut Globe Stars. For this season, the curator aims to have matches filled with continuous runs from the beginning. These pitches offer conditions favorable for batting but with enough firmness to support bowlers when the ball is bowled with intensity.
"Each day, two matches will be played-one starting at 2:30 PM and the other at 6:45 PM. Since matches are scheduled closely over about two weeks, five pitches are prepared for alternate use, along with around nine practice pitches. A team of about 25 people with three decades of experience led by Biju is managing the pitch preparation for KCL," a statement from the Kerala Cricket Association said.
Sanju Samson will be featuring for Kochi Blue Tigers as the Kerala star plays the KCL for the first time. Samson, meanwhile, will not be leading the Blue Tigers as Sanju's elder brother Saly Samson has been picked as the skipper. Apart from that, the likes of Sachin Baby, Salman Nizar, Mohammad Azharuddeen are some of the big Kerala names who will feature in Season 2 of the KCL.
