King Is Dead! Simon Katich Makes Controversial Remark On Virat Kohli During Melbourne Test : WATCH Viral Video

Simon Katich, ex Australian cricketer made a controversial remark on Virat Kohli's dismissal during Day 5 of the fourth Test in Melbourne, which has been making waves on social media.

Katich pointed out that Kohli's dominance in Australian conditions might be waning, while Jasprit Bumrah has emerged as India's most crucial player in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Facing a challenging target of 340 runs, the Indian team collapsed for just 155, leaving them trailing 2-1 in the series.

Kohli once again got out in the same usual fashion after miscuing a shot outside the off stump and got caught in the slips. The dismissal led to the former star to comment that the 'King is dead' referring to Kohli who is often called 'King Kohli'.

"King is dead, he trudges off. King Bumrah has taken the mantle now. Kohli looks dejected with himself, That was a big knock for him. He has come up short and India now reeling at 3 for 33 as we head into lunch on Day 5 here. Australia will be very happy with the situation they find themselves in now for the rest of the day," Katich said while on commentary.

Kohli just scored 5 runs of 29 balls and the fans are livid with the former India captain's performance and feels it is the best time to leave Test cricket. The 36-year-old already called it a day from T20I cricket earlier this year after India won the T20 World Cup.

Virat has so far scored 167 runs in 4 matches so far with an average of just 27.83. His only notable knock came in the Perth Test, where he scored a hundred.

With this loss, India's WTC Final hopes now hangs loose. This defeat plummeted India's points percentage (PCT) from 55.89 to 52.77. Currently at third position, the Rohit Sharma-led side will have to win the Sydney Test and cannot afford a draw or a loss. On top of that, India will be expecting a 2-0 Sri Lanka win over Australia in the upcoming series that would give the Indians the upper hand.
