KKR batter Rinku Singh attends Premier Handball League game, voices support for home team Golden Eagles UP

Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh, who recently took cricket world by storm after hitting five sixes in five balls to win a game, was seen in a different mood on Friday (June 16).

Rinku Singh, the KKR batter who hails from Aligarh, was in attendance to witness an entertaining encounter between the Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan Patriots in the ongoing Premier Handball League (PHL) taking place at the iconic Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur.

The cricketer rose to prominence during the recently concluded IPL after his match-winning performance against the finalists Gujarat Titans in a thrilling league game. He had an excellent season for KKR in the IPL 2023, as he scored 474 runs in 14 matches for them.

The southpaw was there to show support for his home team the Golden Eagles Uttar Pradesh and enjoyed the high-octane tie.

His team Golden Eagles ended up losing the match to Rajasthan 27-36 and currently occupy the bottom spot among the six teams with just a solitary win in six matches. But the KKR batter voiced his support for the team after the game.

The KKR batter, Rinku Singh while talking about the inaugural season of the PHL said, "Handball is such a dynamic sport and is a treat to watch live. I am glad to be here and support my home team, the Golden Eagles."

"I have been following the Premier Handball League since the first matchday and all the matches have been highly entertaining. I am sure the league will help elevate the status of the sport in the nation and will also help India extract its true potential in Handball," he added.
