Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored a stellar century as Purple Knights beat the Golden Knights in Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) first Intrasquad Practice match on Friday (March 20) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Ajinkya Rahane captained the Purple Knights while Rinku Singh captained the Golden Knights in the match. The Purple boys ended up winning the match by 6 wickets and then chased two simulated targets as well.

The Golden Knights batted first and had an early blow as Rachin Ravindra departed for 4 runs. But Sarthak Ranjan and Tim Seifert started their onslaught and launched a fierce counterattack. Ranjan smashed 37 off just 16 deliveries while Seifert scored 46 runs as the Golden team had 77 runs on the board at the end of powerplay.
Their captain, Rinku Singh, came in and played a few superb shots to score 40 runs, with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Part of the KKR net bowling team and trails, Aakash Madhwal, was also sent to bat, and he smashed a crucial 40 off 26 as the Golden team ended up 199/8 at the end of their 20 overs.
Purple Knights, in the run chase, lost their captain Ajinkya Rahane early as net bowler/trialist Sandeep Warrier got him in his very first ball. Finn Allen, the star New Zealand batter, took over and hit a couple of mammoth sixes, but lost his stumps to trialist Navdeep Saini after scoring 23 runs. Manish Pandey also put on a brief partnership but was dismissed after scoring 10 runs.
It was Angkrish Raghuvanshi who stood out with the bat, as he played a stellar knock. Raghuvanshi got to his fifty in 29 deliveries, as he hit a hat-trick of sixes en route in the bowling of Daksh Kamra. The young Mumbaikar continued his batting spree in the latter stages along with Anukul Roy.
Raghuvanshi anchored the innings superbly to take his team home. A player known for his technique and class, Raghuvanshi showcased the brute and destruction as he scored a scintillating, unbeaten century. Raghuvanshi scored an unbeaten 109 while Anukul Roy also remained unbeaten as the Purple Knights won by 6 wickets.
After chasing the original target of 200 runs, the Purple Knights also ticked the simulated targets of 209 and 215 as well and ended up scoring 219/4 in their full quota of overs.
