KKR IPL 2026 Schedule: The three-time IPL champions from the city of joy, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), will keep their eyes set on the title for the fourth time as the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) gets underway.
The Knight Riders had a disastrous campaign last year after winning the IPL in 2024 under the guidance of Gautam Gambhir. In the 2025 season, the Knight Riders finished eighth on the table with just five wins. The team struggled in both batting and bowling with the team showing a lack of consistency.

This time around, under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane and a new coaching staff led by Abhishek Nayar, the team aims to regroup and make a strong comeback this season.

Kolkata Knight Riders retained 12 players from their 2025 squad and headed into the auction with a purse of ₹ 64.30 crore. The franchise also signed the Australian all-rounder Cameron Green for a whopping ₹ 25.20 crore after a fierce bidding battle with Chennai Super Kings, making him the most expensive overseas player in IPL history.
KKR also strengthened their bowling attack by acquiring Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana for ₹ 18 crore and Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman for ₹ 9.20 crore. However, due to political pressure from the government on the back of the Indo-Bangladesh ties.
Overall, the franchise spent ₹ 63.85 crore in the Indian Premier League 2026 auction to bring in 13 players, including seven Indian and six overseas recruits. However, KKR are yet to announce a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman, who has since been released after being signed for ₹ 9.20 crore.
