Kolkata Knight Riders is a coveted franchise in the Indian Premier League. Since the inception in 2008, the Knight Riders have been an integral part of the tournament.
KKR won the IPL twice in their history, in 2012 and 2014 under the leadership of current mentor Gautam Gambhir. In 2008, it was Sourav Ganguly, the local Kolkata boy who was at the helm of KKR.

And since its early days, the team from the City of Joy had a decent set to wear in the matches. The Black and Gold of KKR has turned to Purple and Gold these days, but the kits of KKR always flaunted class, power, and a hint of mythology.
The first KKR kit back in the inaugural IPL season was in Black and Gold. Their co-owner Shah Rukh Khan depicted the symbol of the colours - Black for Maa Kali (Goddess Kali) and Gold as a mantra for success.

The KKR jersey was pretty same for the 2009 season with the golden sleeves just getting a bit on the white side this time around.

Kolkata Knight Riders changed themselves from Black to Purple from this season onwards.
This marks the start of the Gautam Gambhir era. After Sourav Ganguly's departure, Gambhir transformed KKR into a successful unit and won the IPL in 2012 donning this kit.

Kolkata Knight Riders wore this newly-designed jersey in 2014 and got immediate success as they lifted the IPL in that year. Manish Pandey played a brilliant knock in the final as they beat Kings XI Punjab.

Gionee emerged as the main shirt sponsor for KKR this season. Also, they made some intricate changes at the shoulder region.


There were changes again but very minute and around the shoulder region for this season. Kolkata Knight Riders qualified for the playoffs but couldn't emerge further after that.
A significant change int he kit came this season as the lower part had a Golden dominance. KKR's performance was not so good this season yet again.

This year marks the start of post-Gautam Gambhir era in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. Dinesh Karthik led the team in this season as KKR qualified for the playoffs.

The 2019 KKR jersey had a major change again as the sleeves and the lower part of the kit had the tinge of Golden Yellow again. NOKIA continued as shirt sponsor as it came back in the year before.


KKR had MPL as their sponsor in front again for this season and the design was more of the same from the previous season.

A big change in the lower half design came for KKR in this jersey. The circulated design was pretty detailed and Winzo Games came in as the primary shirt sponsor.

The lower half of the kit had another updated version of design, this time the yellow dots getting scattered in the Purple as well. MyFab11 came in as the primary shirt sponsor.

The official kit of KKR for the IPL 2024 is yet to be released. We will update here as soon as anything emerges.
