Two-time Champions Kolkata Knight Riders have made a few chops and changes in their current squad ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024 edition.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) finished 7th in the IPL 2023, thus not qualifying for the playoffs twice in a row. And in a bid to change that in IPL 2024, they have already roped in Gautam Gambhir as the mentor from LSG.

Shreyas Iyer missed out last season with a back injury, but he looks set to captain the side in 2024. In terms of the players released, KKR have let go of 12 players and have the thinnest squad at the moment among all teams.
Bangladesh duo Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das are released, and Lockie Ferguson has also faced the same fate. Shardul Thakur was another big trade player for them last season and he is left out as well.
Apart from that, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee and Namibia international David Wiese are also left out from their squad.
There were speculations of releasing Andre Russell, but the Knight Riders have kept their faith in the Jamaican powerhouse. Sunil Narine, another of their old war horse is also going to stay put for the 2024 season.
Jason Roy came in as a replacement for Alex Hales last season and the England opener will again wear the purple of the Knights next season.
