Kolkata Knight Riders have announced their retained players for the IPL 2025 on Thursday (October 31).
The defending champions, who won the IPL for the third time earlier this year, was expected to retain their core ahead of the next IPL cycle, which runs from 2025 to 2027.

KKR were tipped to keep their Caribbean duo Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, who have been pivotal in their journey and a mainstay in the roster for more than a decade. As the Knight Riders look to create a formidable squad for the next cycle, their retentions are tipped to play a big part in that.
For the IPL 2025 cycle, Kolkata Knight Riders have retained Six players - Sunil Narine, Rinku Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh and Harshit Rana.
Rinku Singh has become a top prodigy at Kolkata Knight Riders. The southpaw rose to prominence with some excellent performance for KKR and despite having a modest outing in IPL 2024, the Knights have kept the Indian player.
Sunil Narine has been a stalwart at the franchise. Since joining in 2012, the West Indies star has been a mainstay and has won three IPL titles with them. Narine, in his illustrious IPL career, has picked up 180 wickets and in recent seasons, has been a batting monster as well.
Varun Chakravarthy is the only player whom KKR also retained ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. The mystery spinner was excellent for them last season and is set to be retained for INR 11 crore.
Harshit Rana is KKR's final pick and the Delhi pacer is being retained in the uncapped category. After a spectacular season with the Knight Riders in IPL 2024, Harshit is set to extend his stay at the franchise. Being an uncapped player, KKR has retained his services for INR 4 crore. Ramandeep Singh is also another inductee for KKR for the same amount of money.
