It is not often when a cricket player takes a trip of around 4000 kilometres, just to play the next day and get eliminated!
But it has happened to Andre Russell, who made a long trip from UAE to Bangladesh, but fortune played its tricks as his trip got cut short.

Russell, who was playing for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the ILT20, saw his team get eliminated at the group stages. The ADKR side won only three matches and lost four in a row to finish at the bottom.
Russell played his final match for ADKR on Sunday evening, and then took a flight to Dhaka on the same night. The Caribbean star came to Bangladesh to take part in the much controversial Bangladesh Premier League, where his team Rangpur Riders qualified for the playoffs.
Although Russell's arrival was a big boost for Rangpur Riders ahead of their Eliminator match, it proved to be a futile one.
Russell could only score 4 runs with the bat as the Riders were bundled out for 85 runs in the match. Khulna Tigers, the opponents chased it down with ease as the KKR player also conceded 14 runs in the solitary over that he bowled. As the Riders got eliminated, the 36-year-old star will now have to board his flight back home in Jamaica.
Andre Russell will be in action for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025. He is a superstar of the KKR side and has been at the franchise for over a decade now. Russell was instrumental as KKR lifted their third IPL title in 2024.
