KKR star called up for Duleep Trophy, set to join India B Squad

By MyKhel Staff

Kolkata Knight Riders star Rinku Singh has been added to India B's squad for the ongoing Duleep Trophy.

This inclusion comes after several players left India B to join the Indian squad in Chennai for the upcoming Test against Bangladesh.

Duleep Trophy

Initially, Rinku was not named in any team for the tournament. According to the Times of India, Rinku Singh will now play under Abhimanyu Easwaran for India B, which recently secured a victory against India A. The UP batter expressed his joy at being included after initially feeling disheartened by his exclusion. Alongside Rinku, Aaqib Khan has also joined India B squad for the next match.

"My job is to work hard, and I am extremely delighted to have received the call for Duleep Trophy. When the teams were initially announced, I was not selected. I was disheartened because my responsibility is to put in the hard work which I am doing. Today, I feel even more elated as I am here to represent India B in the prestigious Duleep Trophy," Rinku said to Times of India after his selection.

The recent call-up marks a significant moment for Rinku Singh, who has been striving hard despite limited opportunities in domestic cricket this season. His inclusion in India B offers him a platform to showcase his skills and make a strong case for future selections.

The Kolkata Knight Riders player will thus leave his UP T20 team Meerut Mavericks. The southpaw has scored 210 runs with an average of 42 for his team in the T20 tournament. But his focus will now shift to red ball cricket as he represents India B.

India B has made a perfect start to the tournament as they beat India A in the first match of the Duleep Trophy.
