In the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), a new rule has been introduced by the organisers for a slow over rate. The new rule suggests number of players in the ring to be increased for the final over if the bowling team can't start the 20th over by the time limit.
The rule also means the fielding team loses one player by their captain's choice and also keeps six players inside the ring for the final over.
In Trinbago Knight Riders' match against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, TKR couldn't finish their first 19 overs withing the stipulated time period of 80 mins 45 secs, and thus had to take off one of their players.
Sunil Narine, who already had bowled out, took himself off and thus was the recipient of the Red Card. With man advantage and fielding restrictions, St Kitts and Nevis scored 18 runs off the final over.
Despite going down to ten men, TKR managed to win the match and got their first points on the board.
