Two old rivals will be locking horns against each other as Kolkata Knight Riders meet Chennai Super Kings on Sunday (April 23) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The Knight Riders are suffering thus far this season and are struggling with just 4 points after six matches. They sit 8th in the IPL 2023 table and a win is imperative for them. CSK incidentally have looked decent and sit 3rd in the table with 8 points from six games.

KKR are being captained by Nitish Rana while veteran India star MS Dhoni is leading the CSK outfit.
Kolkata Knight Riders Squad: Nitish Rana (C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Shardul Thakur, Lockie Ferguson, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, Anukul Roy, Rinku Singh, N Jadadeesan, Vaibhav Arora, Suyash Sharma, David Wiese, Kulwant Khejroliya, Litton Das, Mandeep Singh, Jason Roy (replacement for Shakib Al Hasan), Aarya Desai

KKR Team News vs CSK: The team from the city of joy have no such injury scares, but their performance in the field has been poor, to say the least. KKR though left out Shardul Thakur in the last match but it's unknown whether the India all-rounder is carrying some problem.
KKR made 4 changes in the last match but apart from Jason Roy, others were ineffective. The poor outings of Sunil Narine has been a headache, while their batting took a nosedive in the Delhi Capitals match.
Their record against CSK also poses significant questions and it is to be seen how they shape up in a crucial encounter. KKR may bring back Suyash Sharma in the lineup while Mandeep Singh may be axed for good this time.
Inconsistency has been their biggest Achilles heel but KKR have so far been consistent in their inconsistency, and need a way out of it.
CSK Team News vs KKR: The Whistle Podu army have made a significant step forward with their two most recent wins. They will be without Ben Stokes for the match, but so far their other overseas players have done extremely well.
MS Dhoni heaped praises on young Sri Lanka star Mathhesha Pathirana, and the 20-year-old looks certain to get a taste of playing at the Eden Gardens.
In terms of their Indian selections, CSK look quite settled and we may see a complete preservation of the squad from their last match for the upcoming KKR tie.
