Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane hit a bizarre six in the IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday (April 9).

At the Eden Gardens, LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bat, and the KKR side have made a decent start in the encounter.

In the 9th over of the match, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane hit a stunning six in the bowling of Avesh Khan. The veteran batter threw his bat at a wide delivery and after connecting, the bat flew out of his hand. Despite losing the bat, the shot was powerful enough to clear the fence.

Commentator Harsha Bhogle and Faf du Plessis were in banter mode while explaining the shot, but both agreed to the quality of the KKR player's timing.

Du Plessis, when asked if he had played that shot, said that, "I had a stronger bottom hand to let the bat go," while replying to Harsha Bhogle.

KKR make Solid Start

After losing Finn Allen early in the match, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi have stitched a strong partnership. The duo have been going strong as the Knight Riders are 98/1 at the end of 10 overs in this encounter. Rahane is batting on 41 off 23 deliveries, while Raghuvanshi bats on 42 off 29 balls.
