KKR vs LSG IPL 2024: Will Nitish Rana play against Lucknow Super Giants?

Kolkata Knight Riders face Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday (April 14) to start their five-match home game stretch in the IPL 2024.

As KKR prepare for the upcoming challenge, they may miss the services of Nitish Rana for the immediate future.

Nitish Rana suffered an injury and Rana's fitness concerns have been in the spotlight since he has not played in the ongoing IPL season after his team's first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

And according to the latest reports, the player is likely to miss out on KKR's next match on Sunday against the Super Giants of Lucknow. As per Bengali outlet ABP Ananda, Rana didn't look at his best in the training on Friday at the Eden Gardens.

Rana was observed using a lighter and smaller bat during training, resembling a mongoose bat. He also only used one hand to catch, seemingly failing to use both hands. These signs suggest that he might not be fully fit to play. With KKR aiming to return to their winning ways after a recent defeat to Chennai Super Kings, Rana's absence could be a significant blow.

KKR vs LSG: Will Nitish Rana play?

Nitish Rana is likely to sit out for the upcoming match. The batter is yet to reach full fitness and KKR management may not rush him back until he is fully recovered.

Despite Rana's potential absence, KKR has found a promising talent in Angkrish Raghuvanshi. The young player has stepped up, scoring 54 and 24 in his first two IPL games, showcasing the depth in KKR's squad.

Rana, who had a stellar IPL season last year with 413 runs, including three half-centuries, is eagerly awaited by fans and teammates alike to make his return and contribute to KKR's success in IPL 2024. The southpaw also led the Knights last year but left the duties after the return of Shreyas Iyer.

KKR have started IPL 2024 in a fantastic fashion. They have won three out of their first four matches and currently sit 2nd in the points table.
