Nicholas Pooran etched his name in IPL folklore with a thunderous display of power-hitting, becoming the latest entrant into an elite list, leapfrogging the legendary Yuvraj Singh in the process.
The milestone came during a rollicking innings against Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Eden Gardens, where Pooran was nothing short of unstoppable in the IPL 2025 clash.

Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants set the tempo early through a fluent 81 from Mitchell Marsh and a steady 47 from Aiden Markram. But the real fireworks began when Pooran walked in. He turned the tide and then some, clobbering an unbeaten 87 off just 36 balls. His knock was laced with carnage, swinging the pendulum of the match entirely in LSG's favour.
Pooran's fifty came up in just 21 deliveries, and he treated every KKR bowler with disdain. The highlight was an annihilating over against Andre Russell where he hammered 24 runs, making even the most seasoned campaigners look pedestrian. The West Indian's clean hitting and brute force helped LSG post a towering 238/3, leaving the Eden crowd stunned and the opposition gasping.
Nicholas Pooran also overtook Yuvraj Singh and has now hit 150+ sixes in the IPL. The West Indies star also became only the 22nd player to achieve the milestone. Yuvraj Singh, during his IPL days, managed to hit 149 sixes.
This wasn't a one-off. Since 2024, Pooran has smashed over 200 sixes in T20s globally, showcasing his growing dominance in the shortest format.
In the IPL, Chris Gayle still sits at the top with 357 sixes in his career. The Calypso King played for KKR, RCB and Punjab Kings in his IPL career and retired as a legend in the tournament.
