KKR vs LSG Prediction: Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Lucknow Super Giants at the historic Eden Gardens on Tuesday (April 8).
With both teams locked on identical records- two wins and two losses each, this will be an important match for both teams as they look to evade the mid-table congestion and get into the top four places.

Date: April 8, 2025
Time: 3:30 PM IST
Venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata
Captains: Ajinkya Rahane (KKR), Rishabh Pant (LSG)
Kolkata Knight Riders have been a team of extremes this season. When they're good, they're sensational-evident in their 80-run demolition of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Venkatesh Iyer went berserk with a 60 off 29, while young Angkrish Raghuvanshi showed maturity beyond his years with a solid 50 off 32. With the ball, Varun Chakaravarthy has been unplayable at times, and Sunil Narine continues to age like fine wine.
Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, are still trying to find rhythm. Their 12-run win against Mumbai was scrappy but effective. Mitchell Marsh's quickfire 60 and Aiden Markram's stabilizing 53 did the trick, but the elephant in the dressing room is Rishabh Pant's form-his returns with the bat have been underwhelming so far. The middle order feels fragile, and the bowling hasn't quite hit its peak yet.
The rivalry is young but intriguing. LSG leads the head-to-head with three wins in five matches, but KKR thrashed them by 98 runs in their last meeting. Momentum might be swinging Kolkata's way.
Eden Gardens is generally a paradise for batters early on, but it does tend to slow down, bringing the spinners into the mix. With a 3:30 PM start, dew won't be much of a factor, which means chasing won't necessarily be the preferred option. Captains will have to read the surface smartly.
It's a tough thing to predict the outcome of this match. On paper, both teams have match-winners. But KKR have a stronger bowling core and are playing at home, which could tilt the balance ever so slightly in their favour. If Pant doesn't find form and KKR's spinners get their groove going, Lucknow could be in trouble.
The Knight Riders have all the elements to make their home a fortress and would be aiming to do that. LSG have the ability to shock the KKR side but the defending champions are slightly ahead in this crucial tie.
