KKR vs LSG IPL 2025: Shardul Thakur's Epic Brain-Fade Bowling Takes Him 6 Balls To Bowl One Legal Delivery

KKR vs LSG: In the 13th over of the ongoing IPL 2025 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants, Shardul Thakur experienced a clear brain-fade while bowling to Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer.

He completely lost control over his line and length, taking six attempts to deliver even a single legal ball. The chaos began when Thakur bowled five consecutive wides, all while trying to execute wide yorkers or slower deliveries outside the off stump.

These wides not only added to the pressure but also gave away five extra runs without any effort from the batters.

After finally landing a legal delivery, he managed to get through the rest of the over with a mix of full tosses and short-pitched balls. Rahane collected a couple of runs through a low full toss and a streaky four from a top edge that flew over the keeper. The over ended with an unexpected twist when Thakur dismissed Rahane off a thigh-high full toss. Rahane, who was batting on 61 off 34 balls, chipped the ball straight to extra cover where Nicholas Pooran completed the catch.

In total, Thakur conceded 13 runs in the over, which included five wides and eight runs off the bat. Despite the erratic over, he managed to pick up the crucial wicket of Rahane, slightly redeeming what was otherwise one of the most bizarre overs of IPL 2025 so far.

Speaking of the match so far, LSG batting first put up a mammoth total of 238/3 after 20 overs of play, thanks to Mitchell Marsh's 81, Nicholas Pooran's 87.

It was a day, when nothing went right for the KKR bowlers and the LSG batters literally ran over the entire bowling department of the home side.

At the time of writing this article, KKR were presently batting at 173/5 with 60 runs needed in the last 30 balls.
