Kolkata Knight Riders will be taking on Mumbai Indians in their final home encounter on Saturday (May 11) at the Eden Gardens.

But ahead of the match, there is a nature situation which requires advertence. With Mumbai Indians already eliminated, it may not affect them, but KKR's fate can be greatly dependent on the proceedings.

KKR are set to play MI from 7:30 pm in the evening. In the last few days, Kolkata has seen a fair share of rain after a few weeks of scorching heat. Although it has been a relief for the people from Bengal after the pulsating heat, it can jeopardize the IPL encounter on Saturday.

The KKR practice got cancelled on Thursday due to rain. And there is more of a rain prediction today (Friday, May 10).

There is a prevalent low pressure which is right over Bengal at the moment. The recent surge of rain and thunderstorms has come from that. On Saturday, there is a decent prediction of rain as well.

The seasonal Kalboisakhi (a type of Norwester) is expected on Saturday, which may involve scattered rain and thunderstorms. A total of 17.3 mm of rain has been predicted by weather.com in Kolkata, but the optimistic factor is that the downpour is likely to be till 6 to 7 pm.

After that, there is a prediction of a relatively clearer sky and rain may not have that much effect post-8 pm in the city of Kolkata. With the modern drainage system that Eden Gardens possesses, it is good news as we may witness a full match.
