KKR vs PBKS: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted 261/6 - the highest ever T20 total at the Eden Gardens while playing against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday, April 26.

Earlier, the record was held by five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They had scored 235 runs for the loss of four wickets against home team KKR in the IPL 2023.

The platform was set by the opening pair of Sunil Narine and Phil Salt, who partnered for 138 runs off just 62 balls. Phil Salt was dropped on multiple occasions and capitalised on the fielding howlers from Punjab to score 75 off 37.

Sunil Narine continued his fine form with the bat, scoring 71 off 32 balls. The innings consisted of nine four and four sixes and took him to second spot after Virat Kohli in the list of highest run-scorers in the IPL 2024.

Later, Venkatesh Iyer (39 off 23), Andre Russell (24 off 12), and captain Shreyas Iyer (28 off 10) chipped in with handy contributions to finish at 261/6.

A 250-plus total has been posted eight times in the IPL 2024 now. KKR also scored 272/7 against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam. 200-plus total has been registered in seven out of nine innings at the Eden Gardens in ongoing IPL 2024.
