Kolkata Knight Riders have shown their batting prowess on a tough Eden Gardens afternoon against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday (April 21).
After batting first, the Knight Riders have posted 222 for 6 at the end of their full quota of 20 overs. This is the fourth time the KKR side has registered a score over 200 this season and they are looking good at the halfway stage.

It was not an easy pitch to bat on as the pace change helped the bowlers significantly. But KKR kept on gunning through the middle overs despite losing wickets and ended up registering a mammoth total.
KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer played a significant part in it. Iyer fought through the middle overs and scored a half-century of 35 balls. Ramandeep Singh also played a crucial part in the innings, hitting some impressive shots, including consecutive sixes off Mohammed Siraj. The youngster scored 24 off 9 balls at the latter stage of the game. Phil Salt earlier played a stormy knock and scored 48 runs in just 14 balls to help KKR get off to a flying start.
It was not an afternoon for KKR's Caribbean duo Andre Russell and Sunil Narine with the bat. Russell was unbeaten with 27 runs in 20 balls, while Narine scored 10 runs in 15 balls.
Fans took to social media and hailed Shreyas Iyer and Ramandeep Singh for their outstanding knocks. Here are some of the reactions-
It was not easy for any batters to hit through the line. And as KKR lost four wickets within first 10 overs, Shreyas Iyer's knock was crucial. He anchored the innings perfectly and played some exquisite shots along the way.
This fan says Ramandeep Singh is the Indian Andre Russell. He really was better than Russell today though.
Ramandeep's knock down the order can prove to be crucial for KKR. It was a fantastic knock that helped KKR to go beyond 220, which could have halted around 210.
