Kolkata Knight Riders are up against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 36 of IPL 2024 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday (April 21).
After a dismal first half of the season, RCB would be aiming to resurrect their season in this vital encounter against KKR, whereas the Knight Riders would be aiming to get back to winning ways after the disappointing loss against Rajasthan Royals.

KKR and RCB do have strong batting units. Kolkata have flourished with the likes of Phil Salt and Sunil Narine while Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik have scored heavily for the Bengaluru side. As the two teams lock horns in this important encounter, here are four players who can score big runs today-
Sunil Narine (KKR)
The Trinidadian has shown his batting prowess this season. Narine's name is synonymous with consistency and class with the ball, but restoration to his opening role has been a masterstroke as Narine scored his first T20 century in the last match against Rajasthan Royals. His track record against RCB speaks volumes and Narine can shine again today. Narine has already scored 276 runs at a strike rate of 187.7 this season.
Phil Salt has been a terrific signing for KKR. The Englishman has shown promise with the bat and has two half-centuries under his belt. His power-hitting at the top gives KKR a massive arsenal and he would be aiming to do the same against RCB. With 201 runs under his belt, Salt's primary focus will be to score another big knock against RCB this season.
Virat Kohli's class is in full throttle this season as the RCB supremo is on top of the batting chart with 361 runs in 7 matches, at an average of 72. Kohli has two fifties and a century already this season and he will be hoping to resurrect RCB's season with a blockbuster outing against the Knight Riders.
The rejuvenated Dinesh Karthik has shown his batting prowess as a finisher. Karthik's blitzkrieg at the lower middle order has been a treat to watch but unfortunately, it hasn't been in winning causes. If opportunity arises, the veteran can dismantle a bowling attack, as his strike rate of 205 this season depicts the story. RCB will be hoping for a Karthik storm at Eden, and with the way he is playing, that is not an overstatement.
