Krunal Pandya has gained the love from fans after his excellent outing with the ball against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025 opener on Saturday (March 22).

In the match against KKR and RCB, Krunal Pandya has bowled the latter into the game after a stormy start by the Knight Riders.

KKR made a superb start as captain Ajinkya Rahane and Sunil Narine provided them the platform with the bat. After 10 overs, KKR were 107 for 1 and were looking extremely dangerous, threatening to score big.

But Krunal changed the match after his arrival with the ball. The left-arm spinner got the prized wicket of Ajinkya Rahane first, and then castled Venkatesh Iyer. The former Mumbai Indians player also bowled a surprising bouncer to the KKR vice-captain just before getting him out.

In the final delivery of his spell, Krunal sent Rinku Singh packing by disturbing his timbers as well. The veteran conceded just 29 runs and picked up 3 wickets in his four-over spell.

The fans were awestruck by Krunal's bowling and hailed him for the spell.

"Flies under the radar, and some metrics don't love him because he's not (historically) great wicket taker, but Krunal is a cracking defensive bowler," a fan wrote on X depicting Krunal's bowling.

This fan thinks Krunal Pandya must be in the reckoning for the T20I side along with Axar Patel.

Krunal Pandya's excellent bowling, coupled with the others have restricted KKR to just 174 runs at the end of their full quota of overs.
