The IPL 2025 opening ceremony witnessed a magical collaboration as Rinku Singh and Virat Kohli joined the dance floor with Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan at the Eden Gardens on Saturday (March 22).
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), set the stage ablaze with his charismatic presence. He delivered a captivating monologue, reflecting on the IPL's journey and expressing gratitude to the global cricketing community. The crowd erupted as he delivered his signature line, "Pathan ke ghar pe party..."

In a delightful surprise, cricketing legends Virat Kohli and Rinku Singh joined Shah Rukh Khan on stage. The trio's camaraderie was evident as they danced together, blending the worlds of cricket and entertainment seamlessly.
Rinku Singh was eager to dance with Shah Rukh Khan and had a blast at the float with the tunes of 'Lutt Putt Gaya'.
The KKR owner then turned to Virat Kohli and despite his earlier shyness, Kohli joined SRK to move his body in the tunes of 'Jhoome Jo Pathan', another popular track from the legendary actor's filmography.
Kohli was also handed the IPL 18 Award at the Opening Ceremony for his outstanding legacy in the tournament.
The musical segment commenced with the soulful voice of Shreya Ghoshal, who enthralled the audience with renditions of classics like "Mere Dholna" and "Ghoomer." She concluded her performance with a heartfelt version of "Vande Mataram," prompting the entire stadium to sing along. Disha Patani then took the stage, delivering a high-energy dance performance that showcased her versatility and charisma.
