Kolkata Knight Riders host Rajasthan Royals in match 56 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday (May 11) with the match set to start at 7:30 PM IST.

Nitish Rana's KKR head into the match on the back of their fifth win of this season, while RR led by Sanju Samson are fresh from their fifth loss of the campaign. Both KKR and RR has won 5 of 11 matches so far.

Now, the two playoff aspirants will clash at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, which will host it's sixth match of the season. KKR have lost three and won only two matches at their home so far.

KKR opened their home campaign with a convincing 81-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore and then next registered a win at their home venue only in the recent match against Punjab Kings, whom they beat by 5 wickets.

But KKR had lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 23 runs in a high-scoring match followed by another 49-run loss to Chennai Super Kings and a 7-wicket loss to Gujarat Titans in the three matches between their two wins.

Most sunny and very warm day with maximum temperature of 38^o C reducing to 30^o C during the playing hours. There is no chance of rain throughout the day as it stands. So, weather is unlikely to play spoilsport in the match between KKR and RR.

The Eden Gardens has been known to be batting friendly, but has provided a little assistance for pacers at the start of play and slower bowlers as the game progresses. However, the venue has seen four innings of eight end with totals over 200 so far this season.

KKR defended a total of 204 in the first match against RCB, but lost to SRH in the second match, failing to chase 229 and lost to CSK, failing to chase 236. KKR also failed to defend 179 against GT, but the hosts successfully chased down a target against PBKS in the recent match.
