After making a comeback against LSG, Kolkata Knight Riders are ready again to host Rajasthan Royals at their home, Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday (April 16).

Both of these former champions faced each other on 28 occasions and KKR got a slight edge by winning 14 of them. While the Royals won 13 times and one match ended with no results. In their last three faces, Rajasthan was victorious in two matches.

All eyes will be on this match as the battle will be between two table leaders. Both of the franchises lost just one match each so far. RR is sitting at the top with 10 points in six matches and is immediately followed by KKR, who collected 8 points in five matches. It will be a great opportunity for KKR to become the table leader.

So far this season both of their bowling units are doing an exceptional job. Their bowling prowess should get much of the credit for their till now successful campaign.
KKR has consistently maintained a strong bowling unit throughout the seasons. The Kolkata bowling squad is dominated by spinners like Sunil Narine, Varun Chakrabarty, and Suyash Sharma. However, their pace battery lacks the same depth and complexity. Mitchell Starc, the squad's only seasoned fast bowler, after having a rough start, is showing signs of making an impactful comeback. In this limited time, uncapped pacers like Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana have shown enough potential to succeed in future games.

Rajasthan, on the other side, boasts one of the season's most balanced bowling squads. Pacers Trent Boult, Nandre Burger, Sandeep Sharma, and Avesh Khan feature on their roster. Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Keshav Maharaj are the seasoned spinners in the team. RR also has some bowling prospects from the domestic leagues, like Kuldeep Sen and Navdeep Saini.

Mitchell Starc (KKR): Starc is the only seasoned pacer in the KKR squad. The Australian left-arm fast bowler has been criticised for his poor display in the first two matches but made a comeback in the last match against LSG, as he bagged three crucial wickets. Starc has 39 wickets in his IPL career. In the death overs, his experience will be vital for the Knights.

Vaibhav Arora (KKR): The 27-year-old Indian right-arm medium-fast bowler has 14 wickets in 13 matches. In this season Arora bagged 6 wickets in just three matches. He will be very effective in the early overs of the innings.

Trent Boult (RR): The Kiwi fast bowler is the only seasoned fast bowler in the RR pace lineup. His ability to swing the ball both ways will very much come in handy against the Knights. In the IPL 2023, he collected 13 wickets in 10 games. Boult has 111 wickets in his IPL career. This IPL season, the left-arm bowler has claimed six wickets. He is likely to cause mayhem against the in-form Knight-top order in tomorrow's match.

Yuzvendra Chahal (RR): The Indian leg-spinner was the Royals' leading wicket-taker in the previous IPL season, with 21 wickets in 14 matches, as well as the leading wicket-taker in IPL history. The 34-year-old veteran wrist spinner is also leading the race for the Purple Cap this season, claiming 11 wickets in six matches.
