KKR vs RR: Riyan Parag hits Six Consecutive Sixes, Creates New Record in IPL

By MyKhel Staff

Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag lit up Eden Gardens with a breathtaking display of power-hitting, launching six consecutive sixes in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Chasing a daunting target of 207, Parag took charge just as the Royals were faltering. The pivotal moment came in the 13th over when he launched a brutal assault, smashing five consecutive sixes off Moeen Ali.

The over began with a six over deep square leg, followed by two more maximums over long on and midwicket. After a wide, Parag completed the over with two more monstrous hits, finishing it with 32 runs - a sequence that left the KKR bowlers shell-shocked and brought RR back into contention. After hitting five sixes off Moeen Ali, Parag went six in the first ball he faced against Varun Chakravarthy as well, making it six sixes in a row, albeit not in one over.

Parag also became the fifth player to hit five sixes in an over in IPL, the first after Rinku Singh who secured a famous victory for KKR against Gujarat Titans in 2023 with five sixes in last over.

This explosive burst powered Parag to a 27-ball fifty - his first of the season - and has turned the momentum firmly in Rajasthan's favor. It came at a crucial time, especially after the team had lost key wickets early, including 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi for just 4.

Beyond the sheer spectacle of six sixes, the knock highlighted Parag's growing leadership and ability to thrive under pressure. It was a defining moment of his IPL career and a standout chapter in what has already been a dramatic 2025 season.

The Royals were 71 for 5 at one stage and Parag and Hetmyer have revived them in the match. With five overs left, the Royals need 52 runs to win and are firmly in the chase.
