KKR vs SRH, IPL 2024: Four Batters Who Can Score Most Runs in Match 3

KKR vs SRH: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will cross swords with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the third match of IPL 2024 on March 23, Saturday. The game will be held at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

KKR won two IPL titles under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir in 2012 and 2014 editions. The Knight Riders reached the final in the 2021 season but lost to Chennai Super Kings. KKR failed to qualify for the playoffs last season by finishing seventh on the table.

Meanwhile, SRH won the title in the IPL 2016 season but failed to produce a spark in the last three seasons as they failed to make it to the playoffs. It remains to be seen how the Orange Army will go about their work this time around.

Let's now take a look at the four batters from both teams who can garner the most runs in the third match of IPL 2024.

1. Rinku Singh: KKR's batting sensation Rinku Singh announced himself in style when he guided KKR to a miraculous win over GT by smacking five back-to-back sixes off Yash Dayal. The left-handed batter is certainly one of the prospects to keep an eye on in IPL 2024, given his finishing credentials. He is expected to score a chunk of runs against SRH in the third game. Having played 31 games, he mustered 725 runs at an average of 36.2 and a strike rate of 142.2 including 4 fifties.

2. Travis Head: SRH splashed INR 6.80 crore to recruit the services of ICC World Cup 2023 winner, Travis Head in the IPL 2024 auction. The southpaw is known for his potential to adapt to the demands of the shortest format, be it switching gears and playing innovative shots, which makes him a valuable player in the shorter format. His last IPL appearance came for RCB in 2017 before he was released by the franchise. He scored 205 runs in 10 games at a strike rate of 138.5 including a fifty.

3. Nitish Rana: Nitish Rana led KKR in the IPL 2023 season when Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. However, there won't be a burden on Rana's shoulders this time as Iyer is back to lead the team for the season. As a result, we can expect Rana to lead the batting attack by example. He has played 105 games wherein he scored 2594 runs at an average of 28.8 and a strike rate of 135.2, laced with 18 half-centuries.

4. Aiden Markram: South African international Aiden Markram will be playing as a pure batter this time around, since SRH replaced him with Pat Cummins as the new captain. The right-hander is known for his ability to play a sensible brand of cricket where he doesn't throw his wicket that easily. Having played 33 games, he scored 775 runs at an average of 32.3 and a strike rate of 131.3 including 4 fifties to his name.
