KKR vs SRH IPL 2024 Match 3: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, March 23.
Both the teams failed to qualify for the playoffs last year, and would be eyeing a good start to the IPL 2024 season. SRH finished at the bottom, managing to win just four of their 14 matches. KKR finished at seventh after winning six matches.

Shreyas Iyer is back to lead KKR after losing the last season due to a back injury. Pat Cummins, who led Australia to 2023 World Cup title triumph, will be seen leading SRH.
The match will also witness Travis Head in action for Hyderabad and Mitchell Starc sending down thunderbolts for Kolkata. Starc was bought for Rs 24.75 crore, making him the costliest ever player in the history of the IPL.
The Eden Garden pitch has been unknown for its slow nature, helping the spinners and the slower bowlers. However, the presence of grass last year saw pacers getting help, especially in the early overs. KKR splashed a whopping Rs 24.75 crore for Australia pacer Mitchell Starc, and therefore expecting an Eden Gardens surface with pace and bounce would not be wrong. The spinners will definitely come into play as well.
With a precipitation level of just five percent, chances of rain in Kolkata are minimal. With a humidity level of 64 percent, the temperature will hover around 31 degree celsius. The wind speed at the venue will be close to 14 km/h.
