KKR vs SRH, IPL 2024: Who will take the Most Wickets in the Match?

In the third match of Indian Premier League 2024 Kolkata Knight Riders will start their campaign by welcoming Sunrisers Hyderabad at historical Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday (March 23).

KKR and SRH have met each other on 25 occasions and KKR has a clear domination over SRH as the Knights have won 16 times while SRH have won 9 times. Both of them have failed to qualify for playoffs in the last campaign.

IPL 2024: KKR vs SRH Bowling Squad Comparison

Both of the teams have experienced squads but the bowling unit of KKR is historically spinner-heavy while SRH's bowling squad's balance is more tilted towards the pacers.

As the match is in Eden Gardens, the Knights will be depending on their spinners. Knights spinner-brigade is well equipped with players like Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, Suyash Sharma and Mujeeb Ur Rahaman. But the pace-battery of KKR lacks similar depth and Mitchell Starc will be the only experienced fast bowler in the squad.

SRH have fast bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jayadev Unadkat, and Pat Cummins who have sufficient experience in different formats of cricket. They will be accompanied by relatively less experienced spinners like Mayank Markande and T. Natarajan. Wanindu Hasaranga will miss the first few matches of this IPL campaign due to international duty.

KKR vs SRH: Who can be the Best Bowlers?

Varun Chakravarthy: The Tamilnadu-born mystery bowler was the highest wicket-taker for the Knights in the last IPL. He delivered a brilliant exhibition in IPL 2023 and bagged 20 wickets in 14 matches. Chakravarthy also has 62 wickets in his IPL career with a 7.45 economy rate. KKR will hope for similar performances from him in this match also.

Sunil Narine: The Caribbean Magician has been with the Knights since 2012 and he was one of the key factors in KKR's two IPL-winning campaigns. Though his form in the last few seasons was not certainly the same as in the past, at the spinners-heaven like Eden he will always be an X-factor. Narine Has 163 wickets in 162 IPL matches with an impressive 6.73 economy rate.

Mayank Markande: The 26-year-old right-arm leg-break bowler has played only 30 matches in IPL and took 29 wickets. In the Last IPL, he delivered a decent performance by taking 12 wickets in 10 matches with a 7.89 economy rate. He has yet to get a big break in the IPL and this IPL can provide him the chance.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: The Indian fast bowler was the highest wicket-taker for the Hyderabad side in the last season of IPL. He bagged 16 wickets in 14 matches. SRH will depend on his ability to bowl exceptionally well in slog overs. Kumar bagged 170 wickets in his IPL career. Along with Pat Cummins, he will lead the bowling squad of SRH against KKR.







KKR will be confident enough due to their past statistics against the Hyderabad side. Though a highly competitive battle can be expected with this Pat Cummins-led SRH against the Knights.
