During the IPL 2024 Match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), one of the field umpires got hurt by a shot from SRH batter Rahul Tripahti.
It was Umpire Yeshwant Barde who was hit by a straight hit from Rahul Tripathi in the 10th over of the match.

KKR vs SRH: Yeshwant Barde Hit
In the very last ball of a Suyash Sharma over, Tripathi hit one down the ground. The ball deflected off Suyash's fingers and hit Barde's shin. The umpire couldn't move out of the way and took the hit, and subsequently went down to the field.
The SRH physio was out to the ground promptly and sprayed the swelling shin of Barde. A strap was also applied around the area. The good thing is that umpire Barde has recovered from the hit and has continued officiating at the ground.
Kolkata Knight Riders posted a superb total of 207 runs. Andre Russell was the star with the bat for the Knights as he scored a superb 64 off just 25 balls. Phil Salt also got a half-century on his KKR debut. In reply, SRH are currently 108 for 3 at the end of 12 overs.
