As every dot ball is bowled, a Green Tree Symbol is coming in the Over timeline grid. Generally, a Dot comes up in the scorecard graphics, but the sudden change to a Green Tree has got the fans wondering on the reason behind it.

IPL 2024:Why Green Tree coming on IPL Score Graphic?

The Green Tree symbol is an expression of BCCI's Green Initiative during the IPL Playoffs. It started in the IPL 2023 season, when BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced that they would join hands with Tata for this environmental initiative.

According to the understanding, BCCI will plant 500 saplings for each dot ball bowled during the IPL playoffs and the Final. It is an approach from BCCI and IPL to embrace and environmental factor and raise awareness among the nas for the necessity of planting trees.
