KL Rahul Gets Bizarrely Bowled Through The Legs During India A vs Australia A Unofficial Test - Watch

By MyKhel Staff

KL Rahul failed in his audition to open in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series opener after the Indian batter was bizarrely bowled through his legs during the 2nd Unofficial Test between India A and Australia A at the MCG on Friday (November 8).

Rahul is in line to take the opening slot in the Perth Test later this month, but his foolish act of leaving a delivery saw his stumps broken in the second innings of the unofficial Test.

KL Rahul bizarre dismissal vs Australia A

In the 18th over of the India A second innings, Rahul was bamboozled by spinner Corey Rocchiccioli, who himself was surprised with the way the Indian batter was dismissed. The commentators on air also were shocked at the manner of the dismissal.

Looking to better his performance of 4 from the first innings, Rahul had warded off early pace test and had crawled to 10 off 43 balls, but the senior batter lost the plot when facing the spinner as he was clean bowled with the ball going between his legs as he attempted to leave it.

Rahul looked in disbelief as he continued to make his walk back into the dressing room, leaving India A at 44/4, still trailing by 18 runs in response to Australia A's total of 223 in their first innings.

Like Rahul, the commentators on air also looked clueless as to how the batter was dismissed. "Oh that's out! I don't know how, but it's out. Through the legs, on to the pads and on to the off bail," said the commentator.

Rahul came into the unofficial Test after being benched for the final two Tests against New Zealand, and was under pressure to perform to justify his selection and earn himself a starting spot in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Fans had mixed reactions following the bizarre dismissal as some came in support of the batter, calling it unlucky, "When a batsman is down on luck anything can turn into a wicket! Very unlucky". Meanwhile, some questioned his selection despite poor numbers.
