India have picked their World Cup 2023 squad just a few days ago, and there are not many surprises in the selection.
KL Rahul has made it to the squad after a long injury lay-off. The Karnataka batter injured his thigh during the IPL but was selected for India ahead of the Asia Cup. And Rahul, along with Kishan are picked as two wicketkeepers for India.

But KL Rahul's inclusion in the team is not assured as Ishan Kishan has stepped up with the bat. The southpaw has scored runs of late for India in the ODIs, one of which was a fantastic 82 against Pakistan in the group stages of the Asia Cup.
Amid this, former India player Irfan Pathan has given his verdict to choose a player between KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan. Pathan says he will pick KL Rahul ahead of Kishan for India's match against Pakistan and beyond.
"If you ask me, I will go towards KL Rahul but the team management can think differently. Everyone goes to practice. If I am Ishan Kishan, I won't want to miss any session because I will want to maintain my form," said Irfan on Star Sports.
The former India player also says Rahul requires match practice 'as much as possible' ahead of the World Cup.
"On the other hand, KL Rahul needs to do it. No matter how much he practices or goes on the ground, it is less because the World Cup is also around the corner and you want as much practice as possible, play as many deliveries, and prepare fully. The decision is going to be interesting for sure. I will go with Rahul," Pathan added.
