KL Rahul has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 and has already left the Lucknow Super Giants. According to a Cricbuzz report, the right-hand batter is currently in Mumbai for scans and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken over the case.
The 31-year-old pulled his hamstring while fielding in the second over against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday (May 1). He was seen wincing in pain before being taken off the field. He did not come out to bat until the hosts were reduced to 103/9 while chasing 127.

The scan reports will be deciding Rahul's participation chances in the World Test Championship (WTC) final which will be played from June 7 in London against Australia. However, those aware of the situation are not very optimistic of his chances of travelling to the UK.
Notably, Rahul had a surgery for sports hernia in Germany last year and it is understood that all factors are being taken into consideration.
Krunal Pandya has started to lead LSG in Rahul's absence and the BCCI could soon take a call on Rahul's replacement for the WTC final. Ishan Kishan, who was the second-choice wicketkeeper in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy this year, could possibly replace the Karnataka star.
Further, there is still some uncertainty over left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat's situation with the WTC final. He has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 after a left-shoulder injury which he picked while training in the nets on Sunday.
