KL Rahul Scripts History, Beats Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid To Achieve Huge Feat At Lord's

Indian opener KL Rahul continued his sparkling form with the bat, notching up a memorable century on Day 2 of the third Test against England at Lord's. The 33-year-old right-hander reached the milestone with a calm single off Jofra Archer in the 67th over, further cementing his reputation as a dependable batter in overseas conditions.

With this century, Rahul has now joined a rare group of Indian cricketers to have scored multiple Test tons at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground - famously known as the Home of Cricket. Only Dilip Vengsarkar had previously achieved this feat for India, with three centuries at the venue during his career.

Rahul's latest century adds to the one he scored during India's tour of England in 2021, when he compiled a brilliant 129 in the first innings. That knock laid the foundation for a famous Indian win by 151 runs. His current form and composure at the crease highlight his experience and maturity, particularly in challenging English conditions.

Lord's has always been a special venue for Indian batters, and over the years, ten Indian players have made their mark there with a century. The list includes legendary names like Vinoo Mankad, who was the first Indian to score a hundred at Lord's with a towering 184 in 1952 - still the highest score by an Indian at the venue - along with Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, and Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahul's century on Saturday is his 10th in Test cricket, and impressively, nine of those have come outside India. He now has four centuries in England - only Rahul Dravid has more among Indians.

Here is the list of Indian batters with Test centuries at Lord's:

Dilip Vengsarkar - 3

KL Rahul - 2

Vinoo Mankad - 1

Gundappa Viswanath - 1

Ravi Shastri - 1

Mohammad Azharuddin - 1

Sourav Ganguly - 1

Ajit Agarkar - 1

Rahul Dravid - 1

Ajinkya Rahane - 1

As Rahul walked back to the pavilion to a standing ovation, it was clear that his name is now firmly etched among Indian cricket's finest performers at Lord's.
