Star India cricketer KL Rahul has started his batting and wicket-keeping drills in the lead up to the Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023. The batter himself posted a video on Instagram, which showed him batting and wicket-keeping in full throttle.
The right-hand batter suffered a thigh injury during his IPL 2023 stint as the captain of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He underwent a successful thigh surgery in May and later reported at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for rehabilitation.

"Starting to feel like me again," KL Rahul has captioned one of his posts on July 11. He posted his first video of batting practice session post recovery on July 19. On Wednesday, he showed fans glimpses of his wicket-keeping practice as well.
The development comes across as a major boost to the Indian team who are trying to fix their middle-order conundrum ahead of the World Cup 2023. Despite his injuries, the 31-year-old is still the number one contender for the wicketkeeper-batter slot. Him in that position, provides the team a major balance.
Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan are also contenders, however, the latter is majorly being seen as a third-choice opener. Samson is also eyeing for a spot on the middle-order.
Fans were thrilled to see KL Rahul don the gloves just ahead of the crucial three months for the team. Rahul hasn't been named in the India squad for the Ireland series but is expected to return to the setup with the Asia Cup which starts from August 30.
