The iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will become only the second venue after Lord's (England) to host ICC World Cup finals more than once. Lord's got the honour of being the ground to crown the champion on 4 occasions (1975, 79, 83 and 99). Now, MCG will host World Cup 2015 final, second one after 1992.

On 29 March, the 2015 champions will be known at the MCG. The tournament gets under way (Australian leg) at the same venue on 14 February. On the same day, New Zealand's Christchurch has got the honour of opening the tournament.
