Bengaluru, September 11: Yuzvendra Chahal scalped four wickets from as many games in India's 5-0 whitewash of the Lankans in the ODIs.
Chahal said Virat Kohli's support and leadership helped him a lot on and off the field. "Yes, because it gives your morale a boost when the captain of the national team backs you through all highs and lows," said Chahal.
"Virat Kohli always remains positive on the ground, always confident about his decisions. He will always motivate you even if you are giving runs or if you are not doing well," said Chahal as reported by the royalchallengersbangalore.com.
Chahal also was part of a unique record - the first ever instance of India fielding two leg spinners in their 922-game old history. Kuldeep Yadav was other leggie.
Talking about his comeback, Chahal said: "Sri Lanka tour is very important for me because I came back after one year in the ODI team and we won 5-0. I can't express my feeling how happy I am to be a part of this team."
Chahal's inclusion came after he performed well on a similar, dry and flat South African wickets for the 'A' team.
"Sri Lankan pitches are very slow. Before I came here, I bowled on similar kind of wickets in South Africa and I performed well there. So, I was confident about myself and obviously, it was a great feeling if you take wickets for your team and help the team win. It is a great feeling, you can't express it in words."
